When God gives me a prophecy or an interpretation of a Spirit-inspired tongue I usually only get the first four or five words. I've learned over the years to speak those first few words out in faith and then the rest of the "word from the Lord" flows freely out of my spirit. These prophetic utterances are not coming from your mind; you are not thinking them up or making them up as you go! These utterances are coming from your human spirit as inspired by the Holy Spirit within you. I know in my own experience that I have to go back and listen to a recording to see for sure what the Spirit of the Lord has said through me. I can't tell you exactly what I've said; I can only remember the major theme of the prophecy.
Scripture tells us all to, "Desire earnestly to prophecy...;;I Cor. 14:39 NKJV. We are told in 1 Thess. 5:20-21 NAS, "Despise not prophetic utterances.; But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good." And of course, we examine every prophecy in the light of God's Word--"If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them."; Isa. 8:20
NKJV
The Apostle Paul exhorted the young minister Timothy to fight the good fight or war the good warfare with the aid of the prophetic utterances that were previously made concerning his life and ministry. 1 Tim. 1:18
