Due to inaccurate reporting by the Boulder Daily Camera and KMGH-Channel 7, City on the Hill Ministries has issued the following statement to clarify the facts.

Greetings from Bulgaria! Welcome to my very first blog! In case you don't know me, let me give a brief introduction. My name is Cecily Willard and I have been a missionary sent out by City on the Hill since 2001. I am presently working in Bulgaria. My first trip to Bulgaria was in the summer of 2007. For two months I volunteered at an orphanage, bringing love to six orphans. I returned to Bulgaria in January of 2008 and began, in March of that year, to work with 10 orphans (at the same orphanage) who have severe physical and mental disabilities. I worked with these children until October of 2009.

Gift of Prophecy-Important!

In the year 2009 we've had a regular flow of prophecies at City on the Hill. I've been in the ministry for thirty years and I can't remember a time where we've had a regular stream of prophetic utterances week after week for five months and running!

When God gives me a prophecy or an interpretation of a Spirit-inspired tongue I usually only get the first four or five words. I've learned over the years to speak those first few words out in faith and then the rest of the "word from the Lord" flows freely out of my spirit. These prophetic utterances are not coming from your mind; you are not thinking them up or making them up as you go! These utterances are coming from your human spirit as inspired by the Holy Spirit within you. I know in my own experience that I have to go back and listen to a recording to see for sure what the Spirit of the Lord has said through me. I can't tell you exactly what I've said; I can only remember the major theme of the prophecy.

Costa Rica Missions Trip

Updates coming soon.

It was unusually quiet at CU-Boulder last Friday. Graduation had left the campus void of student energy, but things were building up in the Glenn Miller Ballroom as the Healing Explosion with Sandra Kennedy got underway. It was the fourth and final meeting of the annual City on the Hill healing conference.

Healing. That’s it. A single word to capture what so many of us long for, either for ourselves or for loved ones.

Sickness. There’s another word. Many people ask how can a loving God allow so much sickness (and other evil) in the world. And anyone who is suffering with a malady can tell you how all-consuming sickness can be. Sickness is just a pain. (Sorry, bad pun. Would you allow me one more?) Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? (OK. That’s all. No more puns.)

As a writer and news hound, I’m pretty excited about Twitter.Maybe it’s my instinct for editing that gets all happy about the 140-character limit on the micro-blog platform.Maybe it’s getting quick news items and pithy comments from interesting people that pumps me up.

One recent Sunday, I wondered what it would be like to post blogs from the worship service at City on the Hill. I read many posts from people at conferences and conventions. Why not church where so many interesting things happen?
